Paint experts, is there such a thing as a 'nice pink'?

I have a bathroom with black and white tiles on the floor and part of the walls. I want to paint the rest of the walls paleish pink. But I have never found a really good pink. By which I mean something that would not be found on the walls of a 3-year old girl's room. A classy pink. Perhaps vaguely Germoliney? I am an F&B kind of a gal.

It's an internal bathroom, if that makes a difference.

Middleton Pink is F&B. Classic soft pink, Germoliney but it is a "clean" pink, with a white base, no duskiness to it.

Oh that sounds good. Thanks. I'll have a look at that. I think that duskiness, lovely as it is, might just look a bit dirty in an internal room.

Middleton Pink is a beautiful pink but it is what I have used for DD's room (she is 5). It is a gorgeous colour in there - a very true pink and perfect for a little girl without being garish - but I think it may not be what you are after.
In searching for it I found Shrimp Pink Little Greene and Pink Ground F&B which could be more suitable?

Thanks all. I'll have to get some samples. I tried about 10 different pinks in a room in an old flat and just couldn't get it right. It ended up green iirc. It's comforting to know that it's not just me that finds pink a difficult colour to get right. It's just as well I don't have girls. I'm such a paint nazi, the poor children would be whimpering in a corner, begging me for magnolia.

Lemondifficult, are you pleased with the end result?

I've put a photo on my profile page so you can have a look. The room looks darker in the photo, in RL it's much more airy. I wouldn't call it paleish, though, if that's a criteria.

I'm pleased with the wall colour, just a bit annoyed at myself for painting the woodwork in F&B's Wimborne White. It's fine, I just feel I should have gone for it a bit more and made the woodwork colour more interesting.

Also, if I was doing it again I'd get samples of Sanderson's Fire Pink and Inkwood, both are less orange than the computer screen shows I think.

(To explain, I'd booked the painter before I'd chosen the colour hence not experimenting with the woodwork or more samples)

The dark isn't a problem per se - it's currently quite a dark purple colour (Tyrian Rose, iirc). I just saw a lovely black and white bathroom with pink walls and a bright turquoise chair in a magazine, which looked fabulous. But I think it would need to be quite a light pink to get that look, iyswim.

Sounds fab. I looked again at the Sanderson card after I posted (I think they have the best range of pinks atm) and French Rose [http://www.sanderson-uk.com/paint-range.aspx here]] might fit the bill. Lighter, but definitely pink without being ballet.

Yes I noticed that one too as a possibility.

Obv, when DP gets back from his camping trip he'll no doubt go at the prospect of a pink bathroom, but since he a. has gone on a camping trip and b. won't be doing the painting, he'll just have to trust me on this.

Think Pink, and don't be talked down from it. Others may go Duck Egg Blue, but they're just too pure to be Pink.

I painted the lounge in my old house pink, it was gorgeous! It was just called 'pink' by B & Q, I used matt paint. I had wooden floors, navy furniture and it was lovely (my current decor is beige and I hate it!).

Laura Ashley don't have a big range but they do a few nice pinks.

Sanderson's French Rose looks lovely.
