How much to reline flue and fit woodburner?

Just that really - wondering if anyone else has had this done recently and how much it cost. There is currently a flue but not used - horrible ancient gas fire thingy that needs removing.

We're in greater London if that helps.

you can buy flue by length, the type (and cost) required depends on what fuel you intend on burning.

...it's just a big corrugated tube that drops down your chimney.

...you might find you are not allowed to burn wood, might have to be smokeless fuel, and i really am not sure how you find out.

Woodburners are lovely, but not cheap new!

It'll be wood, intending tog et one of those cleanburn ones. Thanks for the info about the liner, that's helpful. I thought it was more complicated than that I have to say.

I was quoted under £2k yesterday for burner and all extras. I can't quite remember whether this included the fitting as well but got impression it did. Only for 4 or 5 kw one.

I bought a lovely 4.5kw stove from an ebay seller for £250 a couple of months ago. Our fitter said he'd never fitted a cheaper stove but it looks great, knocking out disgusting stone clad 70s monstrosity,fitting a solid slate hearth, lining and sorting chimney, replastering chimney breast and fitting stove cost £1600. Im in Brighton.

Our chimney specialist charged us £1100 to take out old gas fire and reline flue and fit the new wood burner. He also fitted the new hearth and put in fireboard in too.
