What's a local authority search entail?

Not sure if we need one or not as we are buying a garage rather than somewhere to live. Solicitor wants us to tell her tomorrow.

It will cover things like the planning consent for the land/building, local enforcement orders such as noise abatement, smoke control etc and also whether the road around the property has been adopted by the local authority or is private. Your solicitor should really advise whether they think it's necessary. If in doubt, I would get one to be on the safe side.

The road stuff could be relevant. It has a name though, the same as further along where it is LA road. Don't think the other stuff is.
