Taking the plunge-tips for employing/working with builders

Never had builders before and embarking on significant extension. Any tips from the wise on before, during and after a build?

I just had this book out of the library, it could be exactly what you are looking for. Very good advice, short and easy to read. I bought my own copy, I thought in the scale of tens of thousands of pounds of building work it was £5 well spent.

That looks good-thanks! Need something to replace pregnancy books on my bedside table! Child rearing books too scary!
