Can anyone recommend a good DIY DVD ? I want to be able to do a range of home DIY myself including basic electrical stuff. I have tried youtube videos but want something more consistent and authoritative.

Well I don't know about videos but the Collins Complete DIY Manual is an absolute Bible for DIY. There are more regulations about doing DIY electrics on your house since 2005 but all the other DIY you can save a fortune. Good luck with it.
