What does remedial repairs mean..

...as opposed to structural repairs. Have spotted the phrase 'requires modernisation and some remedial repairs' on house details, and really want to know what this could be!

This is what our survey said too. Basically our house needed a new bathroom, kitchen sink, flooring and redecoration but was all livable in for a while (we are still living with it after a year!). Probably like our house, it hasn't been regularly maintained or recently updated but there isn't anything structural to worry about. Ours was previously a rental so LL hadn't spent anything on it for a while!

I thought "remedial repairs" means that there are things that need fixing. Not cosmetic things, but maintenance issues.
