Stansted Mountfitchet

We're looking to move to Stansted Mountfitchet in the near future and wondered if anyone could give me advice re: toddler groups and schools. I know that Bishops Stortford is good for schools but I don't know how feasible it is that my DC will get in a good one considering they all seem to be quite full. Anyone have any experience of the local primary schools in Stansted Mountfitchet? Do they all feed into BS schools? Also is there much to do in SM for toddlers, or will I have to go to BS all the time?

also, I live in BS, and have been to SM for various groups - there is a great sure start centre near the station, which runs a lot of activities I think (I only went when DS was tiny). I went by train and it was easy to commute between the two towns, even though the train times were a bit

I have not heard good things about the secondary school in Stansted though - several people I know who wnet there said they deliberately moved to Stortford to avoid ever having to send their children to it. Not sure how much truth there is to it, but it stopped DH and I from going there, just in case we ended up there until DS went to school!

I had heard that the secondary school in SM is on special measures now. DS is only 18m so it's not an immediate need, but like you I'm wondering whether it's just better to move to BS to begin with.

Hi we are also looking to move to stansted mountifichet and I was wondering if you had made the move yet? We have a 2 1/2 year old and I am looking to find a good network of friends so any advice would be hugely appreciated :) thanks Kristy x
