Planning a bedroom makeover

I'm planning to completely makeover our bedroom and will use a professional decorator. Which comes first? The painting and decorating or the new carpet?

Choose the new carpet first as there are thousands of paint colours that you can then choose to compliment the carpet which usually comes in 15 shades or so.

Then get it decorated, only then would you get the carpet fitted. It makes it easier for the decorator if they are painting the skirting.

Thanks fizzylemonade. We're also getting new dorrs for our fitted cupboards. do you think they should be fitted before or after decoration~?
