Accepted an offer on our SO property June 6. Conveyancing all done on the property we're buying, but our buyer's solicitor seems intent on asking the weirdest and, in the words of my solicitor, "bloody stupid" questions. I start a new job on Sept 1 - is this usual? I come from across the pond where this would all have been done and dusted a month ago.

yes, normal, house-buying is a nightmare in this country.
It can drag on and on and even then you can't be absolutely sure it's going through until the last minute. Sorry!
