Wish I could swap my 1 bed in London for this Welsh house with a forest!

I know this Welsh Cottage well, I used to go there for holidays when I was little.

It's just gone on sale for not much more than my 1 bed London flat!

In a parallel universe I am selling my flat and moving there! It's a beautiful part of the world. It looks like it needs a little t.l.c. in the pictures. I don't remember it quite like that but then I was little when we went so - ahem - quite a while ago now!

I wish I had the time and money to do it!

Amber has got a point - it would be very isolated.

It's on the edge of a village, so not that isolated but it definitely felt like it was when you were there! Night-time was a little scary for an urban kid but in a kind of thrilling way - me and my sister used to pretend there were ghosts in the woods . I also remember looking up at the stars with my dad at night which is a nice memory

Anyway this is my fantasy, it's not scary at night it's pleasantly secluded

Places you can swap a London flat for is a bit of an obsession at the moment as DP and I will most likely be selling the flat and relocating in a few years. It won't be to a place like this though unfortunately I can't even look after a small garden let alone a small forest! (Although do you actually need to look after a forest or does it look after itself I wonder?)

Oh dear that was back to reality wasn't it! Need to get fantasy mode back on ...

I think id leave the forest to itself...maybe throw a few packets of mixed flower seeds down at the appropriate time [if you even needed to]

The cottage and its surroundings really does look like something from a fairytail though, I can see why you have nice memories of it.

It was lovely going to the place in Wales. We used to go with another family with kids and I remember spending lots of time on the big swing in one of the trees. Fond memories
It had a massive fireplace too with the most enormous axe I'd ever seen for chopping the wood!

I remember walking forever with the adults to get to the pub! But they had bar skittles there which the kids were allowed to play. Does anyone remember them? (Sorry going on a proper trip down memory lane now!)

I know what you mean about rightmove. When I was little I didn't understand why my parents looked in estate agent's windows if we weren't going to move. Now I do it all the time

The best houses ive ever seen were when i went to France in about 1981, I dont have any pics nor do I remember where they were! We stayed on a campsite and my mum and I would go off for the day on buses I think?

We saw some lovely totally non touristy places [mum spoke french]

I can still almost taste the pink and white ice cream I had one day-its tasted like honey.
