just painted all walls in front room white pepper from crown range and now finished realised it was matt - we are doing the one wall in picnic basket and realised its silk - will this look odd beign a different finish or should i nip back to b n q and change it for matt?

I would change it - I think it will notice. Matt is nice, go for that all over. Hope your finished room looks lovely!

We did matt it is - dh is doing the 2nd coat as i work upstairs .

you can paint Silk over Matt no prob.

However if you want to paint Matt over Silk, it wil not adhere as well.

Assuming it has fully dried and cured and hardened, you need to reduce the shine by gentle rubbing-down with a very fine abrasive paper or pad. Will take quite a while Sad

Pay particular attention to areas round doors, worktops, lightswitches, sockets where it will be most prone to handling and knocking.

ah is that why one of my matt wall is cracking? cause i painted over silk?

how big are the cracks?

how did you clean and prep the wall before painting?

well i just wiped the wall down before painting

the cracks are tiny but all over the place, will have to paint over it
