Can anyone with an eye for design help?
I live in a 1960s bungalow, therefore there's no particular nice features to it.
The loft has been converted and 5 years ago we added a single storey extension to the kitchen, the roof of the extension is pitched and open with roof lights in. This means the kitchen has a lovely open and light feel to it.
However we are lacking in upstairs space in order to get more space we can either extend further into the loft and add dormer windows giving 1 metre of extra space or we can build up on the kitchen extension giving us in total 4 metres extra.
That one would be the best but I don't know if turning the kitchen ceiling into a flat ceiling would spoil our downstairs.
Has anyone done anything similar? Should we go for a smaller loft instead of risking turning our kitchen into just a featureless box.
