Our search for a dream house by the sea (or in the country) has turned into such a mallarkey that it looks as though it may just be out of our reach financially.

Saw a nice one yesterday - 1st floor in a purpose-built 3 storey block - 60s/70s block.
I've lived in lots of flats but all were conversions.
Anyone have any experience of noise levels in blocks with concrete floors/ceilings?
Would we hear the washing machine upstairs? TVs, marbles dropping, stilleto heels at two in the morning?
