Painting the kids bunkbeds- what should I use?

the kids have got these bunk beds

never bothered to treat it or paint it.

Am decorating their room and would like the beds to be white.

What should I use? Surely not gloss?

As they're untreated you can use most things. If I was doing it, I'd use knotting solution first, then wood primer/undercoat. Sand that lightly then 2 coats of satinwood or eggshell. Use good brushes so you don't get obvious brushmarks and take your time.
