Anyone done this or know someone who has, esp the new nsse scheme in Scotland?

My Mum's going for it and is trying to talk me round.

Is this a part rent part buy deal ? Basically you get all the maintenance responsibility and all the risk in terms of the property value (or not) but only half the profit if the property increases and you are also helping to keep property prices artificially high, so basically shooting yourself in the foot.
If people didn't buy into these the market would crash and you could buy the whole property for the same price.
And for that reason I'm out.
