Hi fellow mancunians,

can anyone reccomend a person/people who do good fitted furniture in manchester? I want two wardrobes and other bits of fitted furniture doing. I got a quote for £2100 for two large wardrobes, a corner tv unit and two bedsides from someone in oldham, but he cant work right now due to family committments and I cant really wait...

Any reccomendations very welcome! Oh, and I cant afford Hammonds so thats a no go !

Builder/project manager friend always uses them and recommends them.

Oops sorry! Haven't ever used them myself, got a quote a few years ago but ended up buying semi fitted ones from Ikea cos they fit the gap perfectly in the bedroom, look great and cost a fraction of the price!

Do they have to be fitted? There's a fab place in prestwich that do great wardrobes at good prices, and deliver on time too (unlike furniture village!!)

We used Jeff at Crown Bedroom Design last year. 01706 625959 mobile 07850 153217. Based in Heywood but was happy to travel to Cheshire (he stayed in the local travelodge!) Can't rate him highly enough, a lovely honest bloke and a perfectionist. I promised I would recommend him and now I have Smile Hth

Hehe, no worries amazonianwoman...its all part of the process!

berries...I do want them to fitted yes..(and Ive not had a very good experience with furniture village either!)

maryjanet...Sounds good, can I be nosy and ask roughly how much he charges for say a six door wardrobe, and what did you get done? Ive got a budget for around 2 grand, which I realise isnt alot for fitted wardrobes, but its still do-able.

My parents had someone build a fitted wardrobe in my bedroom when I was a teenager, I can ask them for his number (he also did some v nice free standing bookshelves for them). It was a good wardrobe too. This was south Manchester.

We paid 3K but had the full monty! Fully fitted ceiling height wardrobes running along one wall and over the bed, and 3x3 wide drawers opposite. A 'floating' bed, and spotlights everywhere! We have a typical semi bedroom btw.
Jeff isn't short of work so doesn't need to do the 'hard sell'. His portfolio speaks for itself, including photos of his own house, and going back 30 years! And after the quote he waits for you to contact him, so no pressure.
Do let me know how you get on OP. In comparison Hammonds were rubbish Smile
