There's a possibility of a job coming up for my husband in Truro. I've been to Cornwall for holidays, but have no idea what it would be like to live round there. Can anyone help. We have two pre-school aged children, and would need to be within commuting distance of Truro.
Things I guess I need help with are - where's nice to live, and how much would a 4 bedroomed house set you back in a decent area, what are schools like, how have people who've moved found making friends (I've heard Cornwall can be a bit hostile for outsiders), and what's it like in the winter (is everything shut??)
There is a small chance I'd not be able to get a job there as the market for what I do is substantially smaller there than where we are presently. I was a bit worried about this in terms of meeting people and developing a social life in a new place. How on earth will I meet people if not working?
Can anyone help with their experiences?
