F&B Modern Emulsion vs Dulux Endurance.

Am I right in thinking the special look of F&B is the chalky finish? And when you convert that to Modern Emulsion it no longer looks special and you might as well colour match a F&B colour to a Dulux paint and save a few pennies. Or does the Modern Emulsion have an especially good finish too?

My whole house needs to be painted and with two small children most of the paint surfaces will need to be washable .

Think if there is no price difference and no colour difference the only thing you have left to try is the grubby hands/scrubbing test....will Modern Emulsion prove itself to be scrubable? One final thing - did both paints go on normally. The clock is ticking - my kitchen sample is in the post, it'll be decision time very soon.

Well the painter didn't complain!.The diamond matt is meant to be scrubbable and harder-wearing than the flat matt so we shall see[it won't take my youngest long to put sticky handprints everywhere].It is however pretty matt in texture which was my other concern re. Dulux.Unfortunately the Dulux Diamond Eggshell is really shiny-a completely different sheen to oil eggshell.I have been told that the sheen damps down in a couple of weeks [i hope] as i have 3 pots of it colourmatched to F&B.I was also told that the best hardwearing eggshell for external usage is sandtex [got it matched to Dix Blue],which is oil based eggshell.
