Morning all

We will get the keys to our new house next week and we are going to spend a fortnight cleaning, painting and laying new floor etc.

We are currently with EON and I would like to stay with them but am unsure of process as we will be between two houses. Do I ring the existing utility supplier to the new house and get them to switch on gas and leccy or can I ask EON to start supplying new house from day 1?

You can have two contracts with EON for the different houses - they won't have any problem with that. Just get the meter readings on the day you take ownership, tell the existing suppliers you want to stop the contracts with them, and phone EON to get them to start right away.

Call EON first. I think they notify the old supplier that they're taking on the supply so you don't have to. We did this when we moved and it was really simple. EON sorted it all out for us with no hassle.

I've just rang EON who will sort everything out; I can sit on my arse a bit longer.

Cheers all
