Solar panel installation

Has anyone got any experience of this? Costs? Easily recouped? Better than the old Gas and all its costs ?

We've just had panels fitted - cost was £4000 ish for supply and installation, we got a grant for 30% of this (not available anymnore I'm afraid - we're in sctoland, not sure about elsewhere).

Can't tell you about cost savings yet, but in-laws have them and have all the hot water they need and more!
