We have just sold our house!

After only 11 days on the market

Am very sad to leave it but circumstances (personal and financial) dictate I must so am thrilled to have sold it for 5k more than we expected to the first people who came to view! They (esp the woman) fell in love with the place, just as I did 8 years ago, so it will be going to people who will love it!

I painted it throughout, emulsion and gloss (took forever!), spent a small amount on making the little garden look really lovely, invested massively in flowers for the viewings and decluttered and cleaned like mad, thanks to advice on here. I also asked the estate agent who showed them round to feed the viewers home made cakes and scones !!!!

Ooh well done. My parents house has been on for nearly a year, with a hardly a viewer.

Am in Holland . The system here is much more like the Scottish one where verbal contracts are legally binding and gazumping doesn't exist

The market here is in a real slump as well though. I think we were obviously lucky but that a realistic price helped. Some of our neighbours are being far too greedy and nobody is interested!

Gawd I love Holland. We went to Center Parcs there last year and visited a lovely little town. Dh and I were gazing in all the estate agent windows.

My parents house needs lots of a leetle work. Sadly we can see the problems with it, they can't and they are not the sort of people you could point it out to.

We just agreed a price to buy our first home. It's also only been on the market for 11 days and we were the first viewers. Unfortunately there were no homemade goodies and it needs doing up, so it's not yours

We got it for 3k under an already reasonable asking price, so we're thrilled. We were meant to be buying another one but the vendor messed us around for a couple of months.
