Shall I paint my dressing table PINK?

I'm keeping my Mexican pine dressing table as it's a good size but was wondering about painting it a plummy pink colour. It is a complete no-no? Am I being a dick?

What colour is the rest of the room? Mexican is a bit dated so I think you should paint it if it is in good condition. Rub down and prime well and try and take all the handles off etc and really let it dry between coats. Can you tell I have done this Bad paint job is almost worse than leaving it alone ime

I hear you! Yes I am fed up with the old mexipine now. Room will gave natural wallpaper with kind of sketchy bird pattern on (sounds ropey but tis not I promise), have bought some metal indian chests so they're kind of shiny and rest of furniture is distressed-type stuff.
