Pull out kitchen so complete refit or just get new doors etc to spruce up?

Current pine kitchen is 20 years old and small.I do not plan to move. I sometimes have students so a new expensive one would not be prudent. The kitchen is basically a length under the window where the sink etc is located and then another longer stretch at right angles with worktop double oven and some more w/top so v limited.the worktop is fine but the doors look worn. The oven and extractor also ready to go down the pan in a manner of speaking. A few of the units are pretty scruffy iinside and do not clean up One drawer has to go. There isa small pantry area adjoining which can hardly be seen housing fridge and w/machine with 2 large high cupboards Still if the rest is refitted it would be a shame to leave pantry out I suppose. I am told having all bulit in looks nicer but in this poxy size kitchen does it matter?
