Can anyone help. My central heating has been working fine all radiators hot and water ok. I turned off the heating completely at the programmer and the thermostat in the hall. Now i have the usual hot water but 3 of my radiators upstairs are still on one is off and all downstairs are off. As its so warm i want them all off. Can anyone help.

Thanks

It could be that those three rads have been plumbed into the hot water circuit. It's no uncommon for this to be done with a bathroom radiator, so it can be used to dry towels all year. Or the three port valve is broken so the hot water can still get into the heating circuit. The pump isn't running so it won't be pumping water round but gravity may take the hot water to the highest points in the system.

Thank you for your reply. Its never happened before so maybe the valve is broken. One radiator upstairs is off which seems odd. Does the expansion tank in the loft need to be full as its very low? Could that be causing a problem?

Thanks

DUNNO if this helps.I was told that when switching heating off for the warmer season not to put valves on rads to low setting but to keep them on higher setting when off. I did it and it worked. You have to put them on higher setting prior to turning off CH
