Not sure on the worktops but Astracast sinks and taps are really good. If that's the same brand you're talking about.

Is Caeserstone a brand name? It might be similar to what I've got, which is a cheaper version of Corian. We are very pleased with it,it is seamless, scratches polish out and it is very hardwearing.

Thanks Mirage I think it is tradename Yes, cheaper version of Corian I do believe. Do you know anything about laminates e.g Duropal Sorry to bombard you but this site is so wonderful ...

Caeserstone is quartz - just like Silestone and nothing like Corian.

Duropal rings a bell with me somehow-I think mine is the same thing with a different trade name-can't for the life of me remember what it is called though.I was worried about durability,so went onto the 'Screwfix' website and clicked on the trade chat kitchen fitters bit.I read through what the people fitting it were saying about it and was reassured. Our fitter was pretty impressed too and has recommended it elsewhere.

I knocked a heavy solid brass pepper mill from a shelf onto our worktop. The peppermill broke, but the worksurface was unmarked.

Thanks for all your help Yes, Caesarstone is 93% Quartz according various w.sites I have looked at
