Wall protection / cover at back door?

We tend to use our back door rather than the front door which opens directly into the kitchen - which is painted cream. The children tend to hold onto the wall as they come in the house and consequently it is always marked / has dirty finger / hand prints on and scuff marks. I'm getting fed up of touching it up. Does anyone know of a product that I can put over the wall to protect it. I'm thinking of something like a splashback but not tiled or glass, to come about half way up the wall. Some sort of rigid plastic or something? Does such a product exist? Thanks

I know that this is a year old thread, but has anyone found anything like the OP was asking about? We have two areas in the kitchen which are constantly grubby because of hand and finger marks!
