Quote 2 - you can always contact Quote 1 for kitchen fitter/plumber - you're not a charity case you will have to pay for these servicies regardless of which Quote you go for.

Both sound expensive - I had a flyer through from British Gas offering a new boiler, fitted, for £1995. I'd have expected an independent trader could beat BGs costs. Boilers themeselves cost from about a minimum of £600 - say a £1000 for a top one, so the rest will be labour. If it's a straight replacement with no new radiators or excessive pipework, it'll defintely be fitted in less than a day - so the labour sounds expensive or they're putting a big mark-up on the boiler.

Quote 2. Just paid £1800 for new boiler fitted if that helps give a better idea

Quote 2 includes free parts and labour for 5 years and you pay for this in the quote I suppose Neighbour had similar fiited last year and cost £2300 If they follow manufacturer instructions to the letter work takes 1-2 days as there is so much to do Had BG quote 3 years ago it was nearly £4000 the ad does not include fitting sorry

I had mine done 5 years ago I think (won't be any later) and it cost £1600 including new piping put round.

I too had the British Gas flyer....when they came and looked at the house though, it was going to cost £4,000. Hmm

I went with someone who charged £1800. This included taking out hot water tank, and took 2 days.

Other quotes were around £2200.
