Quick - Roman blind or pencil pleat curtains?

This evening I am supposed to be making something to cover our bedroom window (a job I have been putting off for months).

I am using Sanderson Dandelions fabric and due to brokeness thought it would have to be a Roman blind to use less fabric. However, I have just realised that (1) it will be a bit tight in terms of seam allowances so will only be a couple of cm below the window (stupid big repeating pattern) and (2) I do actually have enough fabric to do actual curtains (though not quite double the window width - 2 x 137 cm rather than 2 x 148 cm). (I have also put a 20 cm cut in one of the bits of fabric before realising that curtains were an option but reckon I can magic tape this back together and shouldn't be too noticeable Blush).

So slightly too short Roman blind or slightly too narrow curtains? Does anyone care? I don't think DH or I do, I just want to get this done Confused

Oh if it matters, there is a smaller side window in the room too which has a plain coloured Roman blind on it (though I guess if I do a Roman blind on the big window then will have enough fabric to do another for the smaller one, if I don't lose the will to live).

Thank you if you have actually managed to read this most boring of posts :)

Think I'd prefer a roman blind to short curtains. (I like curtains that go down to the floor!) Especially as you already have a roman blind on one window.

Thanks for the reply, I think this is comfortably the most boring thing I have ever posted (and I've had some crackers Wink) Grin

Curtains would be marginally too narrow rather than too short but they wouldn't be floor length - tbh I think that would look a bit weird in the room anyway plus there is a radiator under the window so wouldn't have floor-length there anyway.

No prob, am having the roman blind / curtain dilemma at the mo anyway. Can't believe how much thought have put into it Smile. Have always had floor length curtains even over radiators. But had new window put in bedroom and not sure how to dress it. Hmmm

I was completely paralysed by indecision the other night - waaaay too much thought going on here! Roman blind now underway, god knows when I'll actually finish it Grin

Have a longish curtain in DD's room and always have to tuck it behind the radiator when the heating's on, which is a pain, so going to change it I think ... one day ...
