laying travertine floors in the kitchen - is this a reasonable quote?

we have been told it would cost £45 per sqm to lay travertine floors in our kitchen -- i.e. without the cost of the stone.
So for our 54 sqm kitchen, it will be c£2500 to lay and seal it
it sounded steep but i wasn't really sure?
anyone with experience?

Depends where you are but we have a quote last week for £14 psqm - others came in around the £30 mark. Had one at £38.

Very steep to me how many days? Day rate would be £150 - £200 per man.

Around here must people quote per day not sqm. I would say 2 men x2 would be around £800 max. I had my posh slate from fired earth laid for £450 but 1st quote £750. I sealed it myself - very easy.
