Hi, we need to move to Nottingham urgently, DH has started a new job. We need to move before DS starts school in September. We live in a lovely part of leeds a short 15minute train commute into the city centre. We really close to outstanding infant , primary and secondary schools. If you want to move from Nottingham to Leeds with a young family and you live in lovely part of Nottingham let me know.

Not sure if you know but here in Kent applications to apply for schools for Sept have closed. Here you'd need to make a late application and go on waiting lists for oversubscribed schools. Kent County Council hold a list for schools who still have places. Worth bearing in mind. Think it's the same nationwide.

Wollaton/Bramcote, West Bridgford, or Southwell.

In my child free days I lived in the Lace Market which was great for that lifestyle. If you want central The Park is awesome but I know nothing about schools. Possibly not great given the neighbouring areas.

V jealous. I loved living in Notts!

West Bridgford for best of choice of schools at all levels, also has nice park, shops, restaurants etc but definitely a bit yummy mummy and v expensive houses.

Woodthorpe is pretty much all nice, part is older houses, part more modern, I would go for the older part - but it hasn't got it's own shopping area so is a bit nice but dull. Mapperley is nice but only the bit in Gedling and not the bit in Nottingham City - has its own shops, cafes, pubs etc. Both about 15 mins to city centre on bus. Primary/infant/junior schools good, secondary OK but not brilliant.

Parts of Wollaton, Beeston, Bramcote are nice but don't know them very well so not sure about schools, also Wollaton/Beeston near to Nott'm Uni some areas have lots of students. The Park is very nice and right next to the city centre but have no idea about schools. Wilford (next to West Bridgford) is also nice I think. Parts of Mapperley Park (different from Mapperley) are also nice and its 5 mins from city on bus but again not sure about schools.

Schools in Nottinghamshire rather than Nottingham City Council area generally have better results (although I know that results aren't everything!) Alot of the urban area of Nottingham isn't in Nottingham City and so have Nottinghamshire as their LEA.

I live in Bramcote which is lovely but Wollaton is great for the schools. West Bridgford is lovely too but I haven't lived there but have had friends that have and they loved it.
