Everyone says buy basic (ish) sink and bath but spend your money on the taps. I've no idea who/what are decent brands for taps. Any clues?

Thanks

Not sure about brands but I buy taps via ebay. There are some very good ebay shops and I have found the service to be excellent. Prices are generally far better than in the high street or DIY shops.

Grohe, without a doubt. Have a look to see if you have a City Plumbing near you as they shift loads of Grohe stuff and you will find their prices great.

Eg you can get a Grohe monobloc tap with pop up waste for less than £100. Compare that to the prices charged by DIY sheds for their own brand (crap)and you'll get a great tap that's well manufactured that will last. You can feel the quality of the Grohe taps and brassware, so solid.

I can also recommend Grohe concealed cistern. It is so quiet.

I got a pair of Grohe taps for my sink and matching mixer taps with a shower attachment including the wall fitting bar for £200 from some place online (Plumbing Direct or something like that?). They were the end of a range so massively reduced.

Crosswater also good and not too expensive. Can second Grohe too.....

Well, personally I prefer my taps to look traditional, rather thna modern, so buy them secod-hand off Ebay. Still good makes obviously, but not silly prices.

My bath taps and shower cost £14 including P&P, because they were used, but they are truly beautiful.
