Buying a flat - which survey???

Hi everyone

We are buying a flat in a terraced house. There are only 2 flats in the building.

There is a share of freehold, so we would need to contribute to any building repairs.

Should I get a full structural survey, or go for the homebuyers only?

I'd get homebuyers and, if the surveyor points out any concerns (which they always do), get a specialist - structural engineer/roofer/electrician - in to advise you on that. It's much cheaper and you will get much more accurate idea of what, if anything, needs doing.

Yes above reply is brilliant. Also get vendors to tell you what maintenance they have carried out inthe last 5 years and how often roof etc is checked.
