Boring cream leather sofas

Ok, so I am thinking about decorating the lounge...Completly blank canvas- the only thing we have to keep are the sofas. They are boring recliners- one two seater and one three seater. I guess I could jazz up with cushions/throws etc but don't know where to start! Colour schemes? No idea! All I know is I don't like modern decor. I would like a more homely and warm feel to the room, but with a sense of style. Erm what else- not a fan of loud wallpaper either.... Any inspiration out there MNers?

Why don't you look at some websites and mags to refine the type of look you like.House to home is a good one as is farrow and ball for colour inspiration.I would then get some tester pots and paint on large pieces of paper - then attach to the walls to see how the colour looks in different lights.Once decided then you can pick colours and textures to accessorise.Decide on flooring or rugs and lighting to fit in with your scheme.Ikea is really good for accessories and throws as are antique shops.The type of antique shop that stocks a bit of everything including lots of junk is good for picking up idiosyncratic pieces.Good luck!
