Bathroom flooring ideas.

Victorian cottage, we're renovating it. The family bathroom will be tiny, and we'll have a bath, shower cubicle and loo in it. The basin may be a vanity unit type for the extra storage it gives. Because it's small we can get nice tiles - we're looking at F&B Retro Metro in Limehouse floor to ceiling and up the side of a boxed in bath (no room for free standing). sanitaryware will be vaguely traditional/ victorian. I just can't decide what to go for on the floor. Currently we have painted boards which are deeply annoying to clean, and I hate them. On that tile link they have beige large square travertine style tiles, but I'm not convinced. Maybe they look a bit modern? WWYD?

Proper lino, brand name Marmoleum.
Looks great in modern and period bathrooms, nice and warm to walk on, easy to clean and made from natural materials.

I have tiles in the upstairs bathroom of my Victorian terrace home, just replaced them 6 months ago, and not sure if I am happy... Some grout already gone missing and some of them got unstable feeling perhaps because the floor beams are a bit wobbly (if my child jumps you can feel slight movement). If I had a chance I would choose a proper lino now.

We chose Marmoleum in a lovely dark green for a similar small bathroom. Possibly because Pannacotta told us to. She was right, it's fab .

It's becoming more tempting.... am so easily led....

That's not a small bathroom if you can get a shower cubicle and a bath in!
Second some nice lino or amtico, nicer to walk on than tiles unless you have underfloor heating. Or even tile-look laminate, we had that in old house, was surprisingly good looking and nice to walk on despite being cheapy.

I love my marmoleum. It's a Walton solid colour. Possibly called cement. It's a very classy grey.

Thanks all; I'm totally up for the marmoleum now. DH also happy, as his parents have real lino in their house which must be form the 1920s or 30s and is still going strong. Now to find a supplier for a sample. I like the 'eucalyptus' colour - what do you all have?

@ponks, no I suppose not, just smaller than it is at the moment - it'll be a small bath and a modest corner/quadrant shower cubicle.

We've just had plain dove grey lino put down in our bathroom and it looks fabulous.It was the more expensive stuff as I don't want to have to redo it because of scratches ect,but worth every penny.

When you have it fitted,get them to lay it under the toilet and basin,it looks so much better than cutting around the edges-and far more hygienic too.A good finish makes all the difference.

Don't have the bright orange Marmoleum like my aunt chose!

Apart from that, it's great stuff - I wanted it for the kitchen but somehow DH outvoted me.
