I'm not sure if this is in the right section. If not, could someone point me in the right direction?

Basically I need new dining chairs and am not sure where to look. We have a solid oak table, about 1 m square. I need 4 chairs, preferably small and with no arms (space is at a premium) and of good quality. DH keeps going on and on about "popping in to Ikea and getting some"...no offense to Ikea (a lot of my furniture is from there) but Ireally don 't want cheapie chairs that will fall apart if someone over 8 stone sits on it! Our previous chairs weren't of the best quality and one of them broke when a guest sat on it (he was about 12 stone, so not massively obese or anything!) and another broke when we placed a heavy parcel on it Hmm

Any ideas please?

What kind of look are you going for, I love old chapel chairs which you can find on ebay, I also like the eclectic look of finding different chairs from second hand shops, they tend to be much better made than cheap modern ones, you could paint them the same colour if you wanted to unify them a bit. I also like the look of very modern chairs, but that would depend on the rest of your kitchen!

modern chairs

similar to second chairs, but look at price difference, and personally I think the ebay ones have more character!

Ooo i like the ebay ones too. Thanks, you've given me some food for thought...never thought of second-hand (or vintage, as some would say Wink)
