kitchens from Alaris/Arena

About to get a kitchen design and cost from John Lewis on Wednesday but came across the Alaris website which seems to suggest buy direct and save £££ but is it too good to be true.

Anyone any experience with this company good or bad?

Any one else bought a kitchen via the internet?

I paid a 50% deposit on a kitchen in Dec (to take advantage of the lower VAT rate)- service was very attentive before I placed my deposit - it dropped off severely once they had the deposit, I guess there is no rush as we don't need the kitchen till August. I paid via credit card, which gives some consumer protection but I must admit I feel anxious about the whole deal - it remains to be seen whether it was a good idea or not - if it works out the kitchen is incredibly good value for money.

We looked at this company but we went with another online company DIY kitchens as they could paint wooden doors in any colour. Very similar to John lewis one. Very happy with it.

I dealt with Alaris through there arenakitchens website about 4 months back and I thought they did great! They were very thorough and the kitchen is exactly what I was looking for and I managed to stay (just!) within budget. They offered me a few quotes on different door finishes I liked so I got to compare the different ranges. They took a little while to get back to me with the initial quote, but I think they are just genuinely that busy.

The only down side was there was a couple a damged panels, but these were replaced before the fitter finished my job.
