What do you think of this sofa?

I've never really liked the idea of a leather sofa, but DH is very keen (partly because he thinks it will be better for his asthma) and we like the look of this one, plus the dimensions are perfect for our new lounge (in new build house).

We would get it in really good quality leather (taking cost to about 2200 pounds) and can choose the colours. We love our current terracotta fabric sofas and complementary rug, so our idea is to go for a terracotta colour for the main part, with beige/cream trim.

I really like it, but I think I'd go for a brown/coffee colour rather than terracotta. Any orangey coloured leather just looks a bit 1970s to me.

Yes, I think I'm a bit concerned about the orangey leather too! I think we might need to visit the showroom to get a better idea.

I don't really want to part with our terracotta fabric sofas, but two sofas just won't fit in the new lounge, plus they are pretty grubby now.

I hate leather sofas but it is not for me.......and if it is better for your DH's asthmas it is a no brainer becasue health is more important than how things look.

We have a leather sofa - DP's choice. I hate it. Must be a bloke thing.

In the winter they are horribly cold to sit on and then, in the summer, your flesh sticks to them

Still has to look ok though :) haven't had a chance to visit showroom yet!

Nancy, I thought from other things I had read that the stickiness etc is better if the leather is better quality? I really don't know that much about them though!
