Advice on contents insurance for 'part furnished' rental home

We're going into a rented home and by mutual agreement some of the owners furniture (bedroom furniture/sofa/tv etc) is staying in the house for our use. The rest of the furniture will be ours.

Do I need to do anything special in terms of contents insurance or just treat the items as my own and ensure the value of the insurance takes into account these items?

The ll should have contents insurance for anything they leave, including flooring and white goods. Make sure each item is listed, with age and condition, on the inventory. Include dated photos of any damage to avoid disputes later.
