Which white?

In the process of renovating our whole house and trying to decide what sort of white to go for on the walls. We have had jasmine white in parts of the house for years, which is fine, but thinking of going for a pure white. Is that too clinical?

We have done the 'colour thing' before and now want plain walls, so we can bring the colour in through the furnishings.

Opinions please!

We have brilliant white in the rooms in our very small terrace house the old thing of wanting to make the rooms look bigger, but in the hallways we went for a colour called 'lead white' (I think it was a dulux endurance range). It is a very very pale grey. I wanted a slight contrast. Architects always white wash the whole house, it looks modern, not clinical.
