Browsing for inspiration, I came across this house.

Is it just me, or did Matt and Jax just reach a point where they couldn't face doing any more decoration, and decided to leave the walls as they were?

Hmm, it's the sort of look interiors mavens get terribly excited about ("ooooh, so authentic") but makes me snort. Get a roller and a big bucket of magnolia and cover it up M&J Hmm.

My house is currently very "authentic". That's how I'm going to think of it in the future. Hmm

Do you think they bought those squashed watering cans from Pedlars? Wink

GrendelsMum · 27/02/2011 20:48

I think the famous Pedlars giant spanner fell on the watering cans and squashed them.

Oh God, the watering cans! When I was working on a paper a few months ago, we called around some gardening firms for bits and pieces to photograph for a spread we were putting together and the tut that got sent in: pre-lichened terracotta flowerpots; those stick things that you put in seed beds to remind you what you've sown but with the names of plants already hand-written in extremely neat copperplate; balls of very old looking twine to give your trouser pockets that authentic look Hmm..

Bath is full of shops selling such tat - I honestly wonder how any of them survive.

Am loving old twine though - reminds me of an ancient French & Saunders where they were selling their old loo to stupd rich folk Smile

Hilarious! I'm thinking they might be the sort of couple to like stuff from 'Not on the High Street' Grin Must persuade DH that we absolutely need to have flattened watering cans outside the front door Hmm

The unpainted kitchen walls are the only things I like. Confused

I hate Pedlars style rustic-kitsch as a rule but the walls remind me of Havana.
