We have a pretty ramshackle wooden conservatory at the back of our house (it was on the house when we bought it). Yesterday morning we noticed that the outer pane of the double glazed door has shattered (we have no idea how it happened). The glass has not fallen out or anything (it is obviously safety glass) but it is completely broken into tiny breaks. Does anyone know the likely cost of replacing this door? Would we be able to claim on house insurance?
The conservatory is awful and we did have plans to replace (it leaks too) but I have just discovered that I am pregnant again and we can't afford to do this.
