Induction hobs - worth the extra money?

Just getting new kitchen and thinking of an induction hob. Are they any better in reality than ceramic hobs - just want to be sure as will have to buy new saucepans etc.

I love ours.

My MIL has them and I was sceptical at first - until I tried them and now I am deeply envious. They heat the food really quickly and are really easy to control. We will definitely be getting some in our new place :)

Mine is OK, but it won't stop f*ing well beeping at me if something is placed on it without it being turned on. Very annoying.

Love mine. Super-fast, reacts in an instant if you turn them down, no burnt-on food.

My pans were all knackered anyway, so it was a good excuse to buy more! But check your current ones with a magnet - if it sticks to the base, the pan will work on induction hobs.
