Other than panic?!

Having 2 (non load-bearing, just stud) walls knocked down on Wednesday. Never done anyhting like this before and I am more than a bit a scared especially after lots of people telling me about "the dust, the dust, you'll never get rid of the dust"!

I will be taking down curtains, blinds and pictures. I will move anyhting upstairs that can be moved and covering over the firniture that can't be moved. All doors upstairs closed. Dust sheets on the floor. What else can we/should we do in prepapration?

TIA

Buy lots of wine.

I had 2 load bearings walls removed when I had a large extension. The builders removed the wall that was holding up one corner of the house and it was propped up for 2 months.

You will get dust, but close all upstairs doors and place a rolled up towel at the bottom of each one and this will keep it to a minimum. It will take a few days for the dust to settle. Once you have had a good vac it will be fine.
