Best type of paint for a matt finish to a pine wardrobe?

Hello, I am painting renovating a second hand vintage wardrobe and want a flat matt finish. Am I right in thinking eggshell is slightly shiny? Would normal wall emulsion do or not be hard wearing enough?
Thanks all.

Eggshell has a very slight sheen to it, but not uber noticeable, you can wash it though which makes it quite practical.

Might be worth visting your local small paint/DIY shop to see what they advise? How about spray paint?

Thanks cakeywakey. Painted furniture seems to be everywhere these days, so there must be a best paint for it. Washable would be a bonus!
Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Definitely undercoat it with a good primer. Then 2 coats of eggshell and let it dry overnight between the last 2 even if it feels dry.The sheen is minimal
