We waste hours of our life thinking about it. Not many properties come up for sale there though - and as it's mostly steps we'll need to be fit. The DCs seem outraged that we are considering legging it somewhere hot and sunny but tough, really.

Oh very nice. Can we come and visit?

DH and I have already bought our retirement home here www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/crail/crail/index.html

Jux · 17/02/2011 11:07

Anywhere warmer and sunnier than here! Suggestions welcomed.

serin · 18/02/2011 18:41

That looks nice Jacaqueen, do you rent it out whilst you are waiting?

To the seaside - Hythe, one of the Cinque Ports in Kent. (Nice and close to Dover to pop across to France regularly.)

I don't understand the desire to retire to somewhere else - if you don't like where you live now why not move now??? But admittedly I love where I live!

I might consider buying somewhere smaller when kids leave home & buying holiday house in home country, but wouldn't move back permanently.

Jacaqueen · 22/02/2011 20:42

We dont rent it out but do use it for holidays and weekends. We bought it last year and are still doing it up. Bathroom and kitchen needs gutting. Once its all been renovated we may look into renting it out, especially if/when interest rates start to rise.

I have always wanted to live by the sea. Unfortunately work and family commitments keep us here or I would move in a heartbeat.
