Need some advice on this!
We need to carpet our new loft conversion stairs, and there's a sticker on them that says no nails should be used when carpeting - only glue and screws. Now, we've had two quotes already and both carpet layers insist it is standard practice to use tacks and they usually ignore carpet manufacurers' recommendations and it's fine. Do I let them go ahead and use tacks, or do I insist on screws - even though it is more expensive and time-consuming?
Thanks!
