I got a fab dresser via Freecycle but it's coated with multi layers of ginger varnish! What product is best and quickest at removing this?

cheers me dears

Are you looking to repaint? Or get back to bare wood?

Nitromors this stiuff is what I've always used. Stinks to high heaven, though, so best used outside if at all possible. Follow up with sanding then you can revarnish or leave as bare wood.

I'm looking to get back to bare wood, I'd made me own beeswaxpolish and I can't wait to get rubbing :)

Safest is Home Strip - you can get it on your hands without melting. Fine to use indoors, too.

thanks all; must have a sad life as I'm looking forward to getting stuck in!

Usually cheaper to take it to a professional dipper.
