Pictures and the TV

I feel so embarrassed for asking this but I have no idea what looks right and what looks stupid Blush

We have a wall in our sitting room with an ikea TV bench [http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80133930 this one] in grey. Our TV (which is quite big) sits on the top.

We have about 3 feet either side of it.

I can't work out whether it looks clean and minimalist or really bare!

What could I do with pictures? One above the TV would look stupid but some either side? Or will it just look a mess.

The other walls have patio doors, or an Ikea Expedit unit on so no realy space for pictures there either.

Why don't you move your TV bench and TV to a corner rather than the centre of the wall, then you can put pictures in the space it has created and the TV becomes less of the focus for the whole room.

The room has no corners! There is a door in each corner!

It's a decent sized square room but 3 doors off it and some triple fold doors so not much wall space iyswim.

Wow, that's a tough one. I'd still say it's better not to have the TV in the centre of the wall though, move it to one side, keep it low and put a picture/mirror at eye level.
