Best F&B kitchen shades?

I'm stuck.I can't decide what to paint my kitchen walls and cabinets.I'm looking for a Chalon-type kitchen [but made from solid pine and much cheaper].I can't decide whether to go for utility colours [various shades of drab] or different creams with a central island of terre de vert or possibly mizzle or pale powder.I also like the new stone colour for the walls.The kitchen floor is going to be travertine so i really want to avoid a bland look.What colours work for you in your kitchens?.

I have Grey Green on the cabinets and Lime White on the walls.A year on it still looks stunning and I'm really happy with it.

I've got oak cupboards, black granite and Joa's white on the walls, it looks gorgeous!

Have cupboards in french grey and pointing on the walls. Love it!

I had Red Earth on 3 walls, with Slipper satin on the ceiling and far wall. White gloss units, dark grey floor. Loved it.

Thinking of going for something like Lichen or maybe Calluna in the new house.

I've just gone for Tunsgate green and it's lush - calm and tranquil and changes so much in the light. Got lots of oak - floor, worksurface . seems to work.

Teta couldn't believe your thread, this was me exactly 2 weeks ago !!!. We were advised by the company that made our kitchen to pick a F & B colour we liked for the units and get it colour matched by Dulux, as Dulux paint was more hardwearing for the units. If you haven't sorted out the actual kitchen units I can recommend "Pineland" (just Google the name, I don't know how to do links ) they are based in Cleobury Mortimer and make the type of kitchen you like, exactly the sizes you want and I know they deliver all over the country. Delivered to us in Worcestershire on one day and were delivering to London the next day! I can highly recommend "Pineland"

SNAP Marmaduke.I have had my 'plan' done yesterday.I am really impressed that when you ask them for a specific size and shape they can make it for you [unlike virtually every other company.I went in with my 'house and garden' and showed them what i like [down to the legs on units [but kickboard behind] - like the new moben advert.Now i just have to convince my husband as he was happy with an Ikea kitchen [but i want an expensive looking one with a big pantry cupboard like the Chalon advert]

Teta we had our kitchen delivered 3 weeks ago and it really is very good quality and everything fits perfectly as you can have exactly what you want. It is delivered with the knotting solution and a water based spray for the inside of cupboards, they think of everything!. We actually replaced an Ikea kitchen with this one and you really can't compare the quality, it's no contest. I also wanted to be able to change to colour of the units in the future and this fitted the bill. We also had the oak worktops from them as well and they fit perfectly and are finished to match the units (rounded edges they are very good quality too). We dealt with David at Pineland and nothing was too much trouble for them and they accommodated any changes we wanted to make quite happily. We, also had the Housekeepers Cupboard and an island unit which i'm actually painting in Terre de Vert!! Spooky

so are the inside of the units pine I presume? - look good painted but I have a deep aversion to pine!

I have coninced my dh and have put in the order,Hurrah.Complete with housekeepers cupboard [which my dh is really not sure about].I now have to sort out my utility wich i need next month.Apparently they have some spare capacity in march.What sort of utility style cupbards did you order Marmaduke?.I need a 5 metre run of combined storage and basin and washing machine/tumble dryer.Also i wanted pull-out larder cupboards and Pineland don't do them [aparently they recomment buying the inserts separately].

Teta we haven't sorted out our utility room yet, thought we would do it in a couple of months!. When you say you want pull-out larder cupboards do you mean for the corner floor unit? (we had the triple door floor unit) I personally think you don't need anything that pulls out because the doors open fully (and you can get to all of the cupboard quite easily). I haven't filled the Housekeepers cupboard, so I can see everything quite easily at the moment. I don't know how I managed without the Housekeepers cupboard though, it's like the Tardis . If you don't really know what you want for the utility why don't you list what you want to accommodate and
your floorplan and let Pineland come up with some idea's they really helped us with our kitchen planning and came up some with ideas we hadn't even thought about!

Coinced !! - my spelling is atrocious.The utility room is going to store all my canned/bottled and dried food as well as enough china and glassware to have a massive party [although with 4 dc's we don't sadly].I thought pull-out storage would make things easier to find.The problem is this means another trip to pineland as i don't have the brochure for the kitchen units.Yes ,i thought David was really good and very laid-back and he came up with some brilliant ideas.How does the triple unit work Marmaduke?.I'm glad to hear that the units are good quality and an acurate fit.

teta the triple unit is the floor cupboard that fits in the corner of the of the room. The one we had is in the darker of the 2 display kitchens (not the cream kitchen, the one painted in F & B Stone paint). It's the one that usually stores the pots and pans and in my case in the past things have been put in there never to be seen again!!, but with this cupboard the doors fold right back so you can see everything quite easily.

Why don't you give Pineland a call tomorrow and get them to send you a brochure through the post??
