faux leather sofas?

what is the difference between a sofa made with "leather faced pvc" and a sofa that has real leather back and sides with faux leather outer cushions?

You'll soon see the difference if you have a cat!! Faux leather gets claw marks really easily, and I think leather faced pvc is just thin leather with a strengthening layer on the back, so doesn't get scratched so easily.

thanks i cant afford real leather, the faux leather is under my budget and the leather faced very slightly over, I have no cat but have kids. If i was sensible i would save for another year and buy real leather, (but i have no patience).

Unless your kids have claws you should be fine. Both sorts wipe clean easily. I think we got ours from Oakleigh - much cheaper than everywhere else.
